The Robert Hillestad Textiles Gallery January is presenting an exhibition of over 50 works by members of The Textile Study Group of New York, 14-February 27, 2002. The title of the show describes the format of the work: all pieces measure 9x9x3". The group's membership includes established American artists with international reputations, as well as emerging artists. Most have combined a fine arts background with practical training or scholarly expertise in some aspect of fiber or mixed media.

Tim Harding The Fragmented Surface: Color, Light, Texture 03/11/2002 -- 04/25/2002 University of Nebraska Textiles, Clothing and Design Department will be enriched with the opening of Tim Harding's textile exhibition Fragmented Surface: Color, Light and Texture in the Robert Hillestad Gallery opening on March 8, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. Harding is a highly recognized fiber artist known for using bits of colored fabric as an impressionist painter uses brush strokes. |

Store Front Window Dressing: Women Dressed/Women Addressed 05/06/2002 -- 05/31/2002 Robert Hillestad Textiles Gallery announces the opening of Store Front Window Dressing: Women Dressed/Women Addressed on second floor of the Home Economics Building, East Campus, University of Nebraska-Lincoln. This exhibition is co-sponsored by Nebraska Women's Caucus For Art and will run from May 6 to May 31. |

"Scarlet and Cream" 06/10/2002 -- 09/02/2002 A selection of quilts featuring UNL's scarlet and cream school colors seemed a fitting way to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the founding of the International Quilt Study Center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The IQSC was established in 1997 to encourage the interdisciplinary study of all aspects of quiltmaking traditions and to foster preservation of the tradition through the collection, conservation and exhibition of quilts and related materials. |
