From Lawrence, Kansas, artist Mary Anne Jordan responds to selected African American and Amish quilts to generate bold new designs on fabric. Mary Anne Jordan was a receipient of a 2005-06 International Quilt Study Center Visiting Scholar award. This show incudes new work from Jordan along with some of the quilts she examined.

Celebration of Youth

The 2006 Celebration of Youth XIII exhibit features creative and unique work by young Nebraksa 4-Hers ages 9 to 19. The items are juried from the Clothing, Home Environment and Quilt Quest 4-H exhibits at the Nebraska State Fair. Youth are in attendance and present artist's talks about their exhibits at the Sunday, October 15 opening.

Lulu Myers with guest artist Mary Anne Wise, workshop leader

Lulu Myers, 1881-1977, of Polk, Nebraska hooked rugs for the last 10 years of her life, each one with an original design. This ehxibition, curated by Mary Logue, is culled from the collections of her granddaughters and other family members. Wisconsin artist Mary Anne Wise will lead workshops for the students and public and exhibit work as well.
