An Exhibition of Historic Clothing from 1880-1940

May 4 - September 7, 2012

 Graduate student Kristen Weber, in fulfillment of her master's degree, will explore through dress, the evolving roles of women from 1880-1940.  The exhibition will feature historic clothing from the Department of Textiles, Merchandising and Fashion Design's Historic Costume Collection showcasing pieces donated by Katie Best, a major donor to the collection.

A reception will open the exhibition on May 4^th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. 

June 10, 2012 (all activites in the Home Economics Building, 35th and Holdrege Sts. on the East Campus Mall)

• 2:00-2:30 pm, Friends Annual Meeting, Room 31, lower level
• 2:30-3:15 pm, The Collector and Her Mission, commentary and slide presentation by Dr. Barbara Trout showing highlights of Katie Best's garments, Room 11, lower level
• 3:15-4:00 pm, Public Reception on the second floor
• The historic costume collection will be open for this special public event; all activities will take place in the Home Economics Building
